Didier Lucor

Didier Lucor

Didier Lucor is a CNRS research director and deputy director of the LISN lab. He is part of the Mechanical Eng. dpt in the DATAFLOT (DAta science, TrAnsition, FLuid instabiLity, contrOl & Turbulence) research group in the lab, within the Paris-Saclay campus in Orsay. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics (2004) from Brown University and spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the department of Ocean Engineering at MIT, USA. Later, he worked for ten years at the d' Alembert Institute, at the Faculty of Science & Engineering in Sorbonne Université in Paris before joining LIMSI, which merged with LRI in 2021 to become the LISN.

Soufiane Mrini

Soufiane Mrini (2023-present)

Soufiane is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the intersection of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Deep Learning, with a focus on advancing simulations and analyses in the context of Rayleigh-Bénard's turbulent convection flows. He earned his initial engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique, specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Fluid Mechanics. Additionally, he holds a second engineering degree from ISAE-Supaero, where his studies centered on Deep Learning, Statistics, High-Performance Computing (HPC), and Optimization. Soufiane's research endeavors aim to harness the power of AI techniques to elevate the precision and efficiency of turbulent convection flow simulations and analyses. He is co-supervised at LISN with Anne Sergent.

Edgar Jaber

Edgar Jaber (2023-present)

Edgar is working at the crossroads between statistics, numerical methods, PDE's and uncertainty quantification. He holds an engineering degree from CentraleSupélec with a major in applied mathematics and an MSc in PDE theory from Université Paris-Saclay. He is currently pursuing a PhD at EDF R&D in collaboration with Centre Borelli and the LISN on the topic of hybrid methods.

Vincent Blot

Vincent Blot (2022-present)

Vincent is interested in applied statistics, more specifically in machine learning methods and uncertainty quantification applied to Computer Vision. He graduated from Toulouse School of Economics and holds a MSc in Statistics and Econometrics. He started his PhD in fall 2022 at LISN in collaboration with Quantmetry on the topic of Uncertainty Quantification in Computer Vision.

Gregory Bana

Grégory Bana (2022-present)

Grégory is interested in signal processing and machine learning. He has an engineering degree from Grenoble INP Phelma with a major in signal processing. He started his PhD in November 2022 at CEA Marcoule in collaboration with LAGEPP and the LISN. The aim of this PhD is to bring machine learning methods to imaging for the modeling and resolution of population balances (PBE).

Roger Ballester

Roger Ballester (2022-present)

Roger is interested in computational fluid mechanics, structural design and mechanical optimisation, mostly applied to aeronautical composite structures. He holds a MSc in mechanical engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a diploma from Ecole Centrale de Nantes in aeronautical engineering. He started his PhD within Onera laboratories in collaboration with us during fall 2022. His PhD topic relates to reliability based optimisation of aeronautical composite structures under aeroelastic constraints.

Jiayi Cai

Jiayi Cai (2021-present)

Jiayi graduated from the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology (Sun Yat-sen University, Zhuhai, China) with a MSc Eng. in nuclear engineering. She is interested in computational fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling and machine learning. She joined the laboratory in October 2021 for a PhD project with CEA Saclay about turbulence modeling using deep neural network.

Ludovic Coelho

Ludovic Coelho (2019-2023)

Ludovic is interested in modeling and numerical simulation of composite material and aeroelasticity tailoring under uncertainties. He graduated from the Faculty of Science & Engineering in Sorbonne Université and holds a MSc in Computational Mechanics. He joined the French aerospace lab ONERA in October 2019 to collaborate with us for his PhD about robust optimization, i.e. the realibility-based aeroelastic design of composite wings taking into account uncertainties of the material. He successfully defended his PhD in March 2023.

Bastien Nony

Bastien Nony (2019-2023)

Bastien is interested in applied statistics, more specifically in machine learning methods and uncertainty quantification applied to CFD. He graduated from INSA Toulouse and holds a MSc in Probability and Statistics (University of Toulouse 3). He pursued his PhD at CERFACS, Toulouse and collaborated with us. He principally worked on the statistical modeling of plume transport in complex urban environments and defended his PhD in January 2023.

Riccardo Cocci

Riccardo Cocci (2017-2022)

Riccardo is interested in thermal-hydraulics, physical simulations and mathematical modeling of both conventional and nuclear power plants. He holds a MSc in Energy and Nuclear Engineering from the Sapienza University at Rome, Italy. After an internship on “Safety studies on the EPR reactor” at Framatome, he joined the CEA Saclay in november 2019. He defended his PhD about nuclear thermal-hydraulics and uncertainty quantification with Bayesian modeling in November 2022.

Alexandre Goupy

Alexandre Goupy (2017-2021)

Alexandre is interested in applied mathematics, probability theory and system evolving under uncertainties. He graduated from ENSTA ParisTech, holds a MSc in quantitative finance from Paris I and the French agrégation (in mathematics). He joined the group in 2017 and was co-supervised by C. Millet (CEA). He defended his PhD about spectral methods for wave propagation in random media in graduated in 03/2021. And during winter, if you cannot find him in the lab... he's probably on his skis ! Sibo Cheng

Sibo Cheng (2017-2020)

Graduated from École Centrale de Nantes and Université Catholique de Louvain, Sibo joined the lab in 12/2017 for a Phd project with EDF R&D Saclay. He's been working in the fields of reconstruction/prediction using advanced data assimilation/statistical inference methods. Sibo graduated in 11/2020 and he is now doing a postdoc in the Data Science Institute at Imperial College in London.

Atul was a MSc student from École Centrale de Nantes in the lab in April 2019 and was co-supervised by Anne Sergent. He was working on deep neural network statistical learning techniques for turbulent thermal convection. He is now a PhD student at TUM university under the supervision of Prof. Phaedon-Stelios Koutsourelakis.
